FAQ #217: What are "Stock and Resources" and can I use them in my submissions?
FAQ #157: Can I use things created by other people in my submissions?
I would like to use your stock as drawing reference for some drawings I have to draw for my art class. They will just be shown there and nowhere in the internet. Is that ok for you?
I am a small, part -time writer who self-publishes on Barnes and Noble and Amazon (although with 2 books on both sites I've sold a grand total of 31 copies over 3 years). The part where I am confused is the label "If the book/merchandise is available for free, printed on demand or less then 100 copies are being made, then you can use my stock for free" and "E-Book Only $20" Both websites are E-Books, but they do sell less than 100 copies.
Would I have to pay to use your stock for a cover photo?
If the book is free to download then you don't have to pay.
can the stock be used for one-off commercial art and can the stock be used for mature-content pieces (smut or violence)
and a definite not to the smut/violence., please find someone else for that.
thank you in advance for your reply
Say I did a piece based on your stock and want to submit said work to an art annual like Spectrum. Is that ok for you or is that something you would charge a fee for? (Don't wanna get trouble with that. Talking about digital painting using the image as ref, if that makes a difference at all)
If you're not familiar: Spectrum is a collection of fantasy and science fiction art from a year. It's a judged submission and the artist has to pay a fee to submit in the first place. The book itself is sold as a paperback and hardcover version, but the artists do not get money for that. So it's basically a promotional thing for artists to get their work seen or can be compared to a gallery exhibition.
Hi, I am working on a drawing series for a future solo exhibition in my area (Italy) and would use some of your fantastic stock in my drawings. I will post it also on Deviant and if it’s ok for you on my Facebook site.
Is this ok for you?
Greetings from Italy, Florian.
