I have a question regarding use of your stock.  I'm an illustrator and I'm working on an anthology with a group of other artists.  Currently I'm working on a piece and the figure in it is already draw.  I'm working on the shadows and wanted to use something for reference for the basic way the shadows would fall on their face.  If I found a piece of your stock that fit the general angle and type of lighting I wanted and used it along with several other images I might find or use to plot the shadows on the character's face, would you count that as using your stock for commercial work?  As of right now all the artist group knows is that we'll be printing it, there's no knowing at this point how many copies are going to be printed.

tubing is when people cut out an image and use it like like clip-art on microsoft word.
people cut the figures our of artworks and then resell them as tubes. something i don't like very much.

About literature, but never mind, I found another theme more adapted, and no need of a banner with this one. Sorry for the disturbance.

I have a question about using your stocks as references for the poses for a painting, what rules apply when it comes down to just using it as reference for accurate anatomy and poses for a fictional character?

Hi, I love all of your photos, they are amazing! I just wanted to ask: If I am going to use one of your photos as a reference for one of my drawings or acrylic paintings, which would possibly be entered in a competition and/or exhibition but not actually sold, then how would I credit you? (I am new to this kind of thing)

Hi. I have been admiring your photography. I am considering doing more composite work and would like to know if a charge would apply to use any of your images. The final product I design for and print for my clients is most often a small postcard to promote a church/event - this is where I would use an image to create a composite to tell a story. I look forward to hearing from you~

how many postcards do you make?
Reply
:iconim4given:
iM4given Featured By Owner Jan 21, 2015  Professional Photographer
If it is for a church event, usually 250 (max has been about 2000 on rare occasion). A "standard" church postcard (info card) ordered is 250-1000 where the client may or may not place re-order within a year (rare). They typically want a new design if they come back again to freshen up the ideas, reaching new audiences. Business is part time working mostly with churches.

Hi, I've been watching you for sometime but haven't yet gotten around to trying to do anything with your stock. Your rules seem excellent to me. My situation is a little different, as I'm a traditional artist, working in oil, colored pencil and pastel. My question is can I do artwork with your photos as resource material, credit you and sell the originals, not prints. I would be making some changes that could be considered interpretive and what I had in mind right now is miniatures 5x7 of a couple of your snow scenes that would be sold framed for around $55-$85 a piece. If this is not okay I'll understand. As an artist I totally support your decision. I just want to know whether it is okay or not. Thanks, Sandi (and of course you can hop over to my page to see my artwork)

Hello Jessica!
So, for the little (boring) story, I work in an university. I took you as model for a contest that I set up for students about a spelling application. All is free for students, of course. You can see the poster here: moodle.univ-lyon3.fr/iae/cours… I hope this is OK for you. Sorry, everything is in French (and my English is not perfect... euphemism). I'll also print some posters with our printing service. Tell me if you would like to have one poster as souvenir/gift, I will send it. Thank you again for your wonderful work, both so professional and so inspiring.

Hi, I'm doing a painting for one of my classes and I wanted to reference a cropped portion of one of your stock pieces to do a portrait. Is there any way I should credit you? (I won't be selling the painting or anything) Since it's a painting I'm unsure of how to credit your work. I'll likely post the image after it's done and it'll be easy enough to credit for that.

Your photos are beautiful.  I would like to use a few (or decide which is better given the lighting) for a book cover.  I'm not sure if the book will be finished or if it will be printed, so as far as royalties, I would give you any you deem appropriate when I get to that phase.
